About 2 weeks ago I had a Nokia CDMA 2112, which I knew from internet articles as well that this Handphone can be used for modem + CDMA card with 153kbps bandwidth.

Hardware modem I use is the first time Nokia CDMA 2000 x1 (Nokia 2112) + DKU-5 + CDMA Card. After trying, what happens is a Hang Operating System, all hardware functions stopped immediately, and must be restarted forced (RESET). Find more articles why can hang (Browsing with other GSM handset), it is true, if you use original DKU-5 or DKU-5 TO SERIAL UART chip (not Prolific) is happening is HANG instantly.


Then i change the DKU-5 cable with Prolific chip. Try connect and Hang not happen again. But .. always fails to connect why ....???


Searching the internet again, not see the answer all day, all the way not in the result, although download much software (like DAP, TuneUp Utilities, Onspeed, speednetfree, netturbo, myproxy, propel accelerator, etc. still not successfully connect. But despite occasional connection errors, too often successful but can not make browsing much less downloading, so my attention is the connection status ==> Errors: Sent = 0 Received always add till thousands.


Surprisingly again occasionally managed to connect and can make browsing 1-2 hours, after hard disconnect again. Until three days I only managed to try 2 times.


Finally, I casually try to connect a dial-up while touching the DKU-5 ports which connect to HP's nokia 2112 was successful connect. I tried again many times and I can take this DEFINITE SOLUTION;


Nokia 2112 + DKU-5 (Prolific) + CDMA Card

- After all the drivers successfully installed

- Connect the DKU-5 cable to the port HP Nokia 2112 (usually the message "READY FOR DATA")

- Connect the DKU-5 cable into the USB port of your PC / Notebook.

- Connect to the internet as usual (dial-up)

- Once connected to the internet Open any page (example; www.google.co.id)

.............. I usually wait until nokia lights went out ..............

- Remove the cable from the port HP Nokia and re-connect immediately. (usually HP Nokia will respond to the light)

- If HP Nokia does not appear the message that the connection stops, and browsing the web pages you had open.

- If not successful, you can try again and again.




My experience;

- The connection with my PC is more difficult than the Notebook though ultimately successful, too. Perhaps the problem that affected the response of Processor, RAM, CPU and other system differently.

- For the Nokia 2112 is the maximum port speed of 230,400

- From then until now using this method always works.

- Download speed with Nokia 2112 + DKU-5 + smart (in the Karanganyar, Central Java, 18/12/09 maximum 18KB / s, normally 153kbps = 19KB / s)

- Once other CDMA SIM card is the same problem with the above.
